One kid. One therapist.
No rotating aides, no six kids sharing a mat. Every session is one-on-one with a licensed occupational and physical therapist.
About Planet Sensory
Your kid works one-on-one with a licensed occupational and physical therapist inside a 2,100 square foot sensory gym with slides, monkey bars and a zipline. You watch the whole session live on the waiting room screen.
Meet Ester
Ester Marcellin, M.S., OTR/L, Founder
Ester is a playful occupational therapist with over 18 years of experience. She launched Planet Sensory with the dream of helping children overcome sensory challenges in a space designed just for them, complete with slides, monkey bars, climbing walls, and a zipline inside a 2,100 square foot sensory gym.
Throughout her career she pursued specialized training in sensory-based therapy. She is an Advanced Mentored Clinician with the STAR Institute for Sensory Processing and holds a certification in Primitive Reflex Integration.
As a mother of two, she understands the concerns and hopes parents have for their children's development, and she is personally committed to making every family feel heard and supported throughout the process. You didn’t need a checklist to tell you something was different. You’ve known for a while. The parents who get here fastest are the ones who stopped waiting for someone else to confirm it.
“My goal is to create a safe and engaging environment for kids to explore, improve their sensory and motor skills, and feel empowered to try hard things.”
What We Believe
No rotating aides, no six kids sharing a mat. Every session is one-on-one with a licensed occupational and physical therapist.
Handwriting is almost never about handwriting. The comprehensive evaluation finds what sits underneath it, so the skill has something to stand on.
This is not a standing appointment. We reassess as we go, and discharge planning starts once goals are being met with at least 80% accuracy.
What she loves, what she avoids, what mornings look like at your house: that’s what the plan is built around, never a generic sheet.
The Difference
Skills build on skills, and every month you wait is a month your kid works harder than everyone around them just to keep up.

Rooted in Baldwin
Planet Sensory opened on Merrick Road in November 2024, and the families who walk in are from right here. Same schools, same soccer fields, siblings doing homework in the waiting room. Ester is a mom of two herself. A plan is a lot easier to finish when it’s close to home.
