Accessibility Statement
Built so every parent can use it.
Our commitment
Planet Sensory wants every parent to be able to find hours, book a visit, and reach us, no matter how they browse the web. That includes parents who use a screen reader, who navigate by keyboard alone, who rely on captions or larger text, or who simply prefer to turn off animation.
We’ve built and reviewed this website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the widely adopted standard for making web content usable by people with a range of disabilities.
What we’ve done
- Keyboard access to every page, menu, form, and the FAQ accordions, with a visible focus outline and a skip-to-content link on every page.
- A mobile navigation menu that traps and returns keyboard focus correctly, and closes with Escape.
- Descriptive alternative text on every meaningful photo, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
- Labeled, validated forms with error messages that are announced to assistive technology, not shown by color alone.
- Text and interface colors checked against WCAG’s minimum contrast ratios.
- Motion that respects your operating system’s “reduce motion” setting, and content that remains readable if a browser extension or network issue blocks a script from loading.
- Semantic headings and landmarks (navigation, main content, footer) so the page structure makes sense out loud, not just on screen.
This is ongoing work. We review the site again with every redesign and periodically in between, not just once at launch.
Known limitations
A few parts of this site load from other companies, and we cannot fully control their accessibility:
- The Google Reviews widget (powered by Elfsight) that displays our live reviews. If it’s ever difficult to use with assistive technology, every review is also readable directly on our Google Business Profile, linked next to the widget.
- The Google Maps embed showing our location. A text address and a plain link to Google Maps are always provided alongside it as an alternative.
We are not aware of any other content on this site that fails to meet WCAG 2.1 AA. If you find something, we want to know, and we’ll fix it.
Let us know if something doesn’t work
If any part of this website is difficult to use because of a disability, please tell us. Email ester@planetsensorytherapy.com or call (516) 744-7550, and describe the page and what happened. We reply to accessibility feedback within 5 business days, and if you’d rather book, request information, or ask a question by phone instead of using the website, we are always glad to help that way.
