Careers

We’re hiring one new grad.

You didn’t go to school to run three kids at once in a shared room and write notes in the parking lot. You went because you wanted to be good at this.

Planet Sensory is hiring a new-grad occupational therapist or physical therapist. Family owned and operated, in Baldwin, NY.

The role

Pediatric caseload, ages 2 to 16, individual and group. One kid at a time, in a 2,100 square foot sensory gym with slides, monkey bars, climbing walls and a zipline inside it.

HD cameras stream sessions to the waiting area, so parents watch live and you debrief with them after every session. That sounds intimidating for about a week. Then it becomes the fastest feedback loop you will ever have with a family.

Who we are looking for

  • A new-grad occupational therapist or physical therapist, licensed or license-eligible in New York
  • Someone who wants pediatrics on purpose, not as a stop on the way to something else
  • Someone who can follow a child’s lead and still hit the goal that was written
  • Someone who will say the honest thing to a parent, kindly

New grads are welcome here specifically. The mentorship exists because we expect you to arrive without the reps.

What you get

  • Flexible scheduling
  • Competitive compensation
  • A structured mentorship program with unlimited CEUs
  • Monthly clinical education classes
  • A family owned and operated practice, not a productivity dashboard

The monthly clinical education classes

These run every month and cover the things a new grad actually needs reps in:

  • Pediatric motor development
  • Sensory integration
  • Play-based therapy strategies
  • Exercise progression and regression
  • Functional skill development

Who you would learn from

Ester Marcellin, M.S., OTR/L, founded Planet Sensory and runs it. She has 18+ years of pediatric occupational therapy experience, is an Advanced Mentored Clinician with the STAR Institute for Sensory Processing, and holds a certification in Primitive Reflex Integration.

“My goal is to create a safe and engaging environment for kids to explore, improve their sensory and motor skills, and feel empowered to try hard things.”
